LONDON, 16 September 2026: Agant announced today that its flagship product, GBPA, a fully-backed Pound sterling stablecoin, is now live on Arc, a network purpose-built for stablecoin finance, payments and tokenised real-world assets. Arc mainnet launch coincides with the launch of Circle’s StableFX, offering always-on foreign exchange onchain, with fully-reserved stablecoins settling programmatically, 24/7. Other currencies available on Arc and StableFX include USDC and EURC, making Agant’s pound sterling stablecoin the third major fiat currency represented.

While stablecoin markets have formed around the US dollar, sterling remains central to UK treasury, payment and settlement flows. A network built for real-world financial flows is incomplete without the availability of other currencies that institutions actually settle in.

Arc’s public mainnet launch follows a private mainnet with more than 100 ecosystem partners and institutional builders. Arc aggregates stablecoin and tokenised asset liquidity, allowing users to anchor settlement, collateral, treasury and issuance on Arc while interoperating across ecosystems like Ethereum and Solana where GBPA is already available. Arc’s other benefits include:

  • Onchain FX between stablecoins with instant PvP settlement using Circle’s StableFX
  • Sub-second deterministic finality, eliminating challenge risk and reducing counterparty exposure
  • It uses USDC as gas , with no exposure to volatile gas tokens or cost spikes
  • Opt-in privacy controls that shield sensitive transaction details while preserving auditability

Commenting on the announcement, Agant’s CEO Andrew MacKenzie said: “We’re really excited to be part of Arc’s ecosystem to bring sterling onchain through StableFX. Arc is a great foundation for innovation in institutional currency flows. This is a great opportunity for Agant and the wider ecosystem.”
